Can I have a dog yet?

This is one of my favourite topics and gives me the best excuse to bring my Toy Yorkshire Terrier, Dolly, to school for the day.
The children will undoubtedly turn into dogs for the term, so be prepared for a lot of yapping.

We will be providing ideas for stimulating children's curiosity, understanding, knowledge and imagination about pets and other animals.
Children will be encouraged to learn through play and explore for themselves.

We will be learning:

  *   How to look after pets and other animals.
  *   Begin to understand life cycles.
  *   About the way that different creatures take care of their young
  *   About people who look after animals
There will also be a big focus on phonics to get the children started on their sounds and beginning to read.
