Our topic this term is ’Street Detectives’

Children are encouraged to become Street Detectives looking for clues about the past and the present to find out about changes that have taken place in Dunton Green area over the years. Children will work with simple maps showing a specific route to follow around local streets. They will take photographs of each street on arrival and look out for the different features of each street (such as trees, a post box, a church, a playground or shop), drawing these on the map. Using photographs or a video recording of interesting points along the route, we will encourage the children to think about what the people need to work in and look after the local community, and how the environment might have changed through the years.

If we need your support on any of the outings that we will be making, we will not hesitate to ask. Your ideas contributions or resources will be highly valued.

Please ensure that your child’s Reading Records is brought to school every day. Feel free to use this medium to let’s know how your child is progressing.

We have PE on Mondays and Thursdays. We would recommend that every child bring his/her P.E kit to school on Monday and take it home on Friday.

Children will be given their Homework on Wednesdays. Please ensure that your child complete his/her given tasks and return promptly the following Monday.

If you have any concerns about your child, I will be available for you to speak with me every day except on Tuesdays when I have staff meetings.

I look forward to a promising and successful year of working with you and your child.
